Gadget Use Duration and its Impact on Learning Motivation and Social Development of Children

Development in communication technology such as smartphones and the internet are able to easily solve all information needs. However, there many misuses of sophistication these tools by children. This study aimed determine impact using gadgets on learning motivation children's social development at Islamic Elementary School Yaabunayya Mojokerto. The design used cross-sectional analysis. population was students with a total 146 sampling technique purposive inclusion criteria children grades two six who were willing be researched consent their parents. Samples that meet 85 respondents. instruments Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ) Vineland Social Maturity Scale (VSMS). Data analysis Spearman Rho test. results found correlation between duration ρ value (0.013). Children don’t play tend look playmates can improve development. is no gadget use (0.095). because get lots interesting lessons internet. For this reason, parents expected always accompany gadgets.
